Joan E. Heaton is a popular contemporary writer on teaching styles in the PSIA circles, so if you happen to study for a certification with the oraganization, like I do this year, you'd rather get familiar with her work.  They are well structured and widely accepted but, as always, one needs to be careful of not killing the natural dynamics of learning and teaching process with over-analysis.
