360 on flats: plant your poles in front of your skis and put your hands
on top of their handles - those are your matador swords. With your
arms extended and pushing against the poles wedge-step around the poles
using small, baby steps.
180s on sloping terrain: standing with your side to the slope (at a
right angle to the fall line, or direction a ball would roll if it was
free to move on the slope under gravity) apply your matador swords
right downhill on extended hands (with your palms on top of the
handles) and apply your weight against them to allow changing the
direction of your skis with application of small baby steps (as
practiced in a Wagon Wheel and Flat Matador turns) without letting the
skis slide down the hill. If you can slide the skis back a notch (push
yourself back against the poles) that's a very good sign.
